No legitimate free online tool can decrypt a password-protected PDF without the open (user) or owner password. Claims that promise “unlock without password” are either limited to weak restrictions, or they risk illegal circumvention. If you own the document and you know the password — or you received it from the sender — you can unlock the file on your own device and then extract pages.

EasyPDFHub’s PDF Password Remover asks for that password, verifies it in the browser with PDF.js / pdf-lib, and writes a new unlocked PDF locally. Nothing is uploaded to our servers.

Many “locked” PDFs use an open password (you cannot view the file until you enter it). Others use an owner / permissions password that blocks printing, copying, or editing while still letting you read the pages. Some tools remove only the permissions layer when you supply the owner password. If unlock fails, confirm you have the correct password type and that the file uses a standard encryption scheme — exotic DRM is out of scope for browser tools.

1. Open the password remover, select your PDF, and enter the password you know.
2. Download the unlocked PDF when processing finishes.
3. Open the PDF splitter and enter page ranges (for example 1-3, 7, 10-12).
4. Download the extracted chapter or page files. Close the tab when done to clear browser memory.

Cloud unlockers upload the encrypted PDF and your password to a remote queue. That creates a second copy of sensitive material you may not control. Local unlock keeps both the ciphertext and the password on your machine. Pair this workflow with convert PDF without uploading for a full private pipeline: unlock → split → convert to JPG if needed.

Ask the person who sent the file, check your password manager, or use the original unencrypted source. Do not use “password cracker” sites for documents you do not own — that can violate law and workplace policy. EasyPDFHub will not attempt to guess or brute-force passwords.
