The signature is the file that has a KB limit

Both notices say you are not required to have a photograph ready. The form takes it from the camera. A resized JPG of an old photo is what those notices tell you not to submit, and they say that kind of application can be rejected unless you used Aadhaar authentication.

The signature is a scan in JPEG, between 10 and 20 KB. If a clear signature is under 10 KB, pad the JPG. If it is over 20 KB, compress the image and check the bytes. Blurred or miniature signatures are rejected on both notices, except where Aadhaar authentication applies.

Two signature boxes in the CGL notice

Paragraph 9.6 of the CGL 2026 notice says about 6.0 cm by 2.0 cm. Annexure-IV of the same PDF says about 4.0 cm by 2.0 cm, still at 10 to 20 KB. Nothing in the notice says one measurement cancels the other. Match the box the live form shows you, and keep the file inside 10 to 20 KB either way.
