Resize Image to 100KB — Free, No Upload

A JPG photo, not a PDF

Resize a picture to 100KB or under. This page makes a JPG. It does not compress a PDF. The photo never leaves your browser, and the download shows the real byte count.

The download is a JPG

PNG and WebP photos are re-saved as JPEG. Transparent areas become white. A maximum of 20 KB means 20,000 bytes. A minimum, if you set one, means N × 1,024 bytes.

Choose photos

Up to 10 photos, 20 MB each. They are resized one at a time and are not uploaded.

Target size

The maximum is N × 1,000 bytes. Leave pixels blank to let the file size decide the dimensions.

Cap 1,00,000 bytes

A 100KB image is not a 100KB PDF

Search results mix the two. A portal that says “upload PDF under 100KB” wants a document. A portal that says “photo under 100KB” wants a JPG. This tool only does the second one. Putting a photo through it and renaming the file to .pdf will not produce a valid PDF.

100KB is 100,000 bytes. That is enough for a clear headshot or a single scanned certificate page. It is tight for a full-page colour scan of a whole sheet if you also need small text to stay sharp. If the card says the target was missed, the smallest JPG we will produce is still the one to judge — we do not keep shrinking until the picture is a blur.

How to use the Resize Image to 100KB

  1. Add a picture, not a PDF

This page resizes a photo to a JPG. A PDF under 100KB is a different job.

  2. Keep the 100KB target

The cap is 100,000 bytes. Set pixels or centimetres only if the form asks.

  3. Resize

The browser builds the JPG and shows progress. Large photos are handled one at a time.

  4. Read the size before you download

Use the file when the byte count is at or under 100,000.

Resize Image to 100KB FAQ

Will this compress a PDF to 100KB?

No. The download is a JPG photograph. Renaming it to .pdf does not make a PDF.

Is 100KB equal to 100,000 bytes?

Yes, for the maximum on this page. That is stricter than 100 × 1,024, so a passing file also fits portals that use the larger kilobyte.

What if the picture is still too big?

The card says the target was missed and shows the size that was reached. It will not shrink the photo into an unreadable blur just to print a smaller number.

Is anything uploaded?

No. The file is processed by JavaScript inside your browser tab and never sent to our servers. Closing the tab clears it from memory.

Is it free?

Yes.

Quick answers

How do I resize an image to 100KB without turning it into a PDF?

Use a photo tool and download a JPG at or under 100,000 bytes. A 100KB image and a 100KB PDF are different uploads. Renaming a JPG to .pdf does not create a document a portal can open, and compressing a PDF does not produce the photograph a photo field expects. One hundred kilobytes is enough for a headshot or a single scanned page when the text does not have to stay razor sharp. If the picture is still over the cap at the smallest size we will allow, keep that honest file size on screen instead of claiming success. Check the card for both the byte count and the pixel size before you submit the JPG. EasyPDFHub’s 100KB image page runs in the browser, accepts JPG, PNG, WebP, and HEIC, and always saves a JPG with the byte count visible before download.
