50KB is a tight cap, not a universal exam rule
Applicants search for a 50KB PDF because some state and municipal forms print that maximum. This page does not attach the number to a national exam we have not verified. The CSIR-UGC NET December 2026 bulletin uses 50 kb as a minimum for several certificate PDFs (50 kb to 300 kb), and as a maximum for the signature JPG (10 kb to 50 kb). Compressing a certificate under 50KB would miss that minimum.
50KB here means 50,000 bytes. A one-page grayscale scan sometimes fits. A colour photo of a full page often does not, because we stop around 60 DPI rather than produce an unreadable file that merely claims 50KB.
If the form wanted a JPG, not a PDF
A signature or photograph limit is an image limit. Compress the image, or raise a JPG that was rejected for being under the minimum. Turning a PDF into a tiny file does not create a passport photo.
