Upload a scan, not a drawing
Sign on white paper with a dark pen, photograph it in even light, and crop away the rest of the page. The presets below fill a size and a KB band from notices checked on 19 October 2026. They are a starting point. The same recruitment cycle has already disagreed with itself: SSC CGL/CHSL 2026 describes the signature as about 6×2 cm in the main notice and 4×2 cm in Annexure-IV. Open the PDF you are applying under and match that one.
RRB NTPC figures here come from a summary of CEN 07/2026, not from a line you should trust without the official notice. IBPS numbers come from the PO 2026 pre-requisites PDF. PAN numbers come from Protean’s published photo and signature guideline. If the portal changed the band, type the new minimum and maximum. The tool will not invent a signature for you.
Why the file sometimes grows without looking different
A clean signature JPEG is often 3–8 KB. A rule that says “10 to 20 KB” rejects that file for being too small. The maximum is N × 1,000 bytes and the minimum is N × 1,024 bytes, so 10–20 KB means 10,240 to 20,000 bytes. Quality is raised first. If the picture is still under the floor, a JPEG comment is added and the card says the file was padded. The ink does not change.
Clean background turns a pale page white and darkens the ink. Turn it off if your scan is already a clean black-on-white JPG. Rotate the photo if the signature is on its side, then let the wide crop keep the middle. SSC and RRB capture the candidate photograph live. This page is only for the signature file those forms still ask you to upload.
